Today we recognize Shara Abraham, recently promoted to Pro Bono Director.
Shara has been with LSHV for eight years. She first joined LSHV as a Staff Attorney with the Veterans and Military Families Advocacy Project and most recently served as Supervising Attorney of our Newburgh (Now New Windsor) Office.
As Pro Bono Director, Shara will ensure high-quality legal representation through private attorney involvement and volunteers. She will work alongside a talented and passionate team of LSHV attorneys and legal professionals to bring our mission into the communities we serve.
Shara became a lawyer because of her deep commitment to justice. When asked why Pro Bono work is vital to her, she replied, “We all have a role to play in protecting the right of our most vulnerable neighbors.
Our profession is rooted in public service, and pro bono is a means of calling in private law firms, corporations, law schools, and community partners to join our fight for justice.”
Shara enjoys working with colleagues she respects and admires and looks forward to building on the success of our housing clinic; she would love to see the unit provide pro bono services across our practice areas and reach specific populations, including veterans and veterans those crippled with consumer debt.
