Opportunities for non-attorneys

LSHV has opportunities for individuals interested in volunteering their time but who are not attorneys.  Opportunities include:

Fundraising is the bread and butter of a nonprofit and Legal Services of the Hudson Valley is no exception.  We rely on volunteers to help support our efforts in a variety of ways, such as doing research, assisting on an event committee, helping staff in the weeks leading up to an event and the evening of, and help with follow-up and thank you calls after the event.

Each year we produce multiple elements of marketing materials such as an annual report, brochures, fact sheets, social media posts and website pages. We are always looking for anyone with strong design background to help us with our creative projects.

LSHV has a small staff and relies on community support to help us write stories and to get articles placed in mainstream media in the lower Hudson Valley.  We need volunteers to assist in updating our media contact list and to help develop stories that are media friendly.

The lower Hudson Valley is home to a diverse community of individuals and families who speak multiple languages.  If you are skilled in translation and/or interpretation we need your assistance during client interviews, meetings and court proceedings and to translate legal documents.

Help us tell our story through pictures.  We are looking for individuals who are comfortable taking photos throughout the region.  We will schedule time for you to come to the office and photograph our staff interacting with our clients and with each other.  In addition, we are always in need of individuals who can help us with photography at press conferences, networking events and during workshops.

LSHV is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt not-for-profit organization.
