| Justice means that everyone, regardless of their ability to pay, can access the quality legal advice and representation they need to protect their rights.
For 41 years, Legal Services of the Hudson Valley (formerly Westchester/Putnam Legal Services) has provided free, high quality civil legal services to low-income people. Our services help struggling individuals resolve urgent, non-criminal legal problems that can lead to larger social problems such as homelessness, child neglect and domestic violence. The result is strong communities where the rights of our neighbors are protected, regardless of their incomes.
Since 1967, Legal Services of the Hudson Valley has provided legal assistance to more than 130,000 clients, with nearly 11,000 handled annually. With so many individuals and families in need, we’ve expanded our services to include counties spanning the Hudson Valley.
Legal Services of the Hudson Valley is dedicated to working with qualifying low-income individuals and families who otherwise would have nowhere else to turn for help. We determine who is financially eligible to receive our assistance by using federal guidelines and specific eligibility criteria determined by grants.
LSHV's services are funded, in part, by the US Department of Health and Human Services, the New York State Office for the Aging, and Westchester County. |
